Pros: Inexpensive; available most anywhere
Cons: Caused dry, flaky, lips
The Bottom Line: If you have pale skin and easily chapped lips, avoid Outlast - it is so strong in its lasting power, it can cause irritation for women with sensitive skin.

| caurieanne's Full Review: Cover Girl Outlast Lipcolor |
All women have a drawer (or basket, or box, or other recepticle) that holds their unwanted and outcast makeup - makeup they have usually just tried once or twice and knew RIGHT AWAY it was not going to work for them. One of the pieces of makeup in my outcast drawer is Cover Girl's Outlast lip applique.
I purchased two tubes of Outlast (my mistake, I know, should have just bought one to start!) at Wal*Mart after hearing rave reviews about it on a wedding chat club I belong to. My wedding was fast approaching and many of the girls on my wedding board had used Outlast with wonderful results! Almost like the percentage here, about 75% of the girls who tried it loved it - it stayed on all day with just one application and made their lips look bright and flawless. I, however, was in that 25% group that found it to be horrible.
I tested Outlast a few weeks before my wedding. I was so excited to try it having heard so many wonderful things!!! It is not like regular lipstick, it reminds me more like paint - you paint it on with the understanding it will stain your lips for the day (which means you won't have to reapply - something great on your wedding day) Well, Outlast DEFINATELY stayed on my lips, but it also caused them to start peeling and stinging after about an hour. Before I knew it, my lips were the color they were supposed to be on the bottle, but also all gunked up with peeling skin. It was painful andvery unattractive. I removed the Outlast right away (difficult to do as it stays on very well) with baby oil.
Believing maybe I got a faulty tube, I waited a few days for my newly chapped lips to heal up and tried my second wand of Outlast. Alas, the same thing happened! I do not know why this is, as it does not happen to the majority of Outlast users? I do have a tendency to have dry skin and also have a pale, Irish, skin tone. So, if you are like me, keep that in mind before trying Outlast.
In case anyone cares, I ended up using a regular tube of Lancome lipstick on my big day. It was more expensive then Outlast, yes, ($19 instead of $7) but my lips looked gorgeous and I didn't have to reapply once. The color I used was Cherries Jubilee. It was absolutely outstanding and is DEFINATELY NOT in my outcast drawer! :)
