It truly is a beautiful world thanks to Cover Girl! Cover Girl has made an outstanding product and a loyal product user with their Simply Powder Foundation. The name of the product describes itself well. It is simply powder foundation pressed into a small, mirrored compact. Don’t get this product confused with cream-to-powder foundation because they are two distinct products. The powder foundation does not have a moist texture at all, hence the name, Simply Powder Foundation. A cream-to-powder foundation does begin as a moist product that becomes a powder. I prefer the powder foundation personally because I found the cream-to-powder foundation caused my face to shine. While I know that the “radiant” look is in, this look did not qualify.
Coverage
Cover Girl’s powder foundation ranks right up with the department store brands. The coverage is equal and the quality is comparable. The foundation comes in a variety of shades which allows for diverse skin tones. The product is easy to apply with a sponge that is packaged with the mirrored compact. Unlike liquid foundations, the powder foundation can be reapplied quickly and without a mess because it is in power form. Touch ups for an on-the-go lifestyle is a breeze. I began using powder foundation about two years ago and I am impressed by the coverage you get from this powder foundation. I can not tell the difference between this coverage and liquid foundation, with the exception that the powder foundation doesn’t feel like I’m wearing makeup.
Cost
I have tried a variety of foundations and have sampled from the very expensive to the dollar store brands. While you can not beat the individual attention you receive at a department store, the satisfaction of the money saved by buying makeup at a discount store outweighs the private consultation. At a cost of around $6.00 for Cover Girl’s Simply Powder Foundation, I save the extra $10.00 that I would have spent for a department store brand. You can even save more money by using coupons or store specials.
Availability
Cover Girl products can usually be found at discount stores such as K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and Target. The foundation can also be found at supermarkets and drug stores at whatever regional stores are available in your area. You will not find these products at the department store.
Is this foundation right for me?
I believe this product is great for all ages. While it’s simplicity of use would be fantastic for a new makeup user, the same would hold true for a stay-at-home mom, or a business professional. It is a time-saver in the mornings, and what woman today can’t use more time?
While I can’t attest for those who don’t have oily skin, I can say that my skin does not have that “glow” that I normally get from other foundations. I think Cover Girl has made a convenient product that passes the foundation test with high marks.
