Pros: Perfect color match, easy to use pump, feels very light and silky.
Cons: A little pricey compared to other Cover Girl products but less than other brand's equivalents.
I absolutely love this new foundation. I bought my first bottle almost 3 months ago as soon as it hit the store shelves. Here's my review for Cover Girl TruBlend foundation.
My foundation woes
I have never been a big fan of wearing foundation. Not that I don't want to wear it, the main problem for me is that I can never get the perfect color for my skin tone. I'm blond, blue eyed and have light to medium skin (depending on the season). I've tried mostly Cover Girl foundation products in the past. Those include AquaSmooth, Clean liquid, and Ultimate powder to liquid foundation. They all either aren't the perfect shade or they seems to streak when applied (AquaSmooth and Ultimate) or they come off easily (Clean makeup). So I finally gave up and started to use the Smoothers tinted moisturizer. It comes in light/medium shade that blended pretty well for me. But, it doesn't cover much and it's easily rubbed or sweated off. So I wore that for about a year before I saw the ads for TruBlend. I just had to try it since it promised that I could just choose the shade closest to my skin tone and it would blend to match my skin. I figured it wouldn't be any different than any other foundation but I soon found out I was wrong. I saw TruBlend for the first time at my local Walgreens. I chose shade 410 (classic ivory) and took it home.
My TruBlend experience
As soon as I got home, I got a new makeup wedge and pumped 1 dollop of the TruBlend. The package says to use a 'pea sized' drop. That's exactly how much 1 'pump' will dispense. So I dabbed it on and started to blend it in all over my face. At first, I thought I made a huge mistake. It seemed way too light and seemed streaky. I continued to blend it in until I thought it was the best I could get it. Then the miracle happened. About 1 minute after I finished applying the TruBlend and I was finishing my eye makeup, the makeup was invisible on my skin. It really had blended into my skin. I had perfect coverage that matched perfectly. This was a first for me. I have been using TruBlend for almost 3 months and still have the same bottle. It really does last a long time since it pumps out the exact amount you will use. I do sometimes use another dollop if I want extra coverage under my eyes or if my nose has red spots. TruBlend comes out as a liquid but when you apply it, it feels really silky almost like powder. I can't feel it at all when I have it on. It doesn't dry my skin and doesn't make my skin oily. It's just perfect all around.
I haven't seen this makeup with the regular Cover Girl stuff yet. It is always displayed on a shelf somewhere. The bottle comes packaged in a blue box with a clear front so you can see the exact color in the bottle. The bottle contains 1 fl oz and has a pump on the top. The bottle also has a cap that covers the entire top...so no worries about the makeup being accidentally pumped out. The cover snaps on pretty good so I don't think it would come off in your purse. The bottle is an oval shape that fits in my hand nicely. The pump is easy to use. It does take a couple of pumps the first time you use it before the makeup comes out. After that, it comes out as soon as you push the pump down.

Problems with TruBlend
Not displayed with regular Cover Girl items so it may be difficult to find.
It's a little pricey...$8.99 for 1 fl oz. I got a rebate from Walgreens so it was free though. It's less at WalMart.
Pump stopped working. I popped the plastic cap off the bottom of the bottle, pushed the 'plunger' up a bit and then it worked fine. Guess it just got stuck.
It's perfect if you have trouble choosing the right shade. It's also a light to medium coverage so it may not be enough if you like a really heavy coverage. I just use a little more where I want more coverage and that seems to work well for me. I think it's worth the $8.99 price tag. It has lasted almost 3 months so far with every day use. I don't have anything bad to say about TruBlend. I will use it as long as they make it. I have already purchased another bottle in the same shade and a bottle in 1 shade darker for when I get tanned in the summer.
