| Birdfeather's Full Review: Cover Girl Tru Blend Liquid Foundation |
I recently decided to try Covergirl TruBlend Liquid Foundation. I had been having a little trouble matching skin tones recently since my skin has lost all the natural summer tan now. I had tried several others and most were too light, making me look like a ghost. I found the perfect shade with Covergirl TruBlend Liquid Foundation. Read on to find out what I thought of the coverage and performance.
Covergirl TruBlend Foundation
Covergirl TruBlend Foundation comes in a 1.0 fl. oz. pump style bottle. It is an oil-free foundation which was my first priority in choosing a foundation. It is also dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. Retail price is in the $8.99 range.
I found that this foundation had a lot to boast about. I was very curious to see if it could stand up to the Covergirl claims. Covergirl claims this foundation provides a flawless coverage that will not clog pores. The formula is designed to smooth away imperfections and even out skin tones. It also boasted that it would match 97% of people's skin tones. It does this with advanced color technology which adjusts to your actual skin tones.
I was able to find a good match for my skin tone with the shade soft honey. It is also available in these other shades:
Ivory
Classic Ivory
Natural Ivory
Buff Beige
Natural Beige
Medium Light
Classic Tan
Soft Sable
Toasted Almond
Tawney
Creamy Beige
Classic Beige
Creamy Natural
My Experience With TruBlend Foundation
I found this foundation to be of a medium coverage. It did a nice job of blending and application was a breeze. One of my complaints on this foundation is the smell. It has a scent that just smells old to me. It's not a strong odor but when you are putting something on your face you don't want to be annoyed with an unpleasant fragrance.
Covergirl TruBlend Foundation did a nice job of matching my natural skin tone. I thought the finished look was nice and pretty much flawless. However, it did not wear flawlessly throughout the day. I ended up with a bit of oily shine on my forehead and nose. This was easily touched up with a quick powder which left the application looking a bit overdone.
While not overjoyed with this foundation, it did a fair and average job. If it had been an expensive foundation, I would be upset but for $8.99 it did perform as an average foundation. If you are looking for a perfect skin tone match, Covergirl TruBlend Foundation has a variety of shades. I was pleased with my skin tone match.

Recommendation
I recommend Covergirl TruBlend Foundation as an average drug store brand foundation. It matched my skin tones and did a good job of average coverage. However, if you are expecting flawless, keep looking. I give Covergirl TruBlend Foundation 4 Stars.
