Covergirl Shadow Squease. You squeeze too much or not enough!

Pros: Only paid $1 for it.
Cons: Just couldn't get it to go on evenly.
The Bottom Line: This is a neat idea but it didn't work for me. I was unable to get the correct amount of eyeshadow on each eye.

Cover Girl Shadow Squease was in our local Dollar Tree store, so I figured I would try it. The packaging is open in the front so you can see the product without removing it. The color on the top flap of the box really does match the color of the eyeshadow. The color I chose was number 435, Cocoa.
Looking through the box the product looks just like the squeeze lip balms that are all the rage lately. It comes in a tube that is metallic silver on the bottom section and also the long, one and a quarter inch cap. The middle is clear with silver writing on it. The amount of shadow is 8 ml or .29 fluid ounces.
The color on the box looks a dark beige/light brown with a matt finish. I was very interested to see how the color would turn out on my eyelids.
I unscrewed the cap and there was the applicator. It was white and had an angled soft tip to it. On the angle was a hole so that the liquid eyeshadow could come out. I touched the applicator and it felt like a sponge but firmer. Now here was were the fun would start, applying it to my eyelids. I wear progressive bifocal glasses and have really blurry vision without them.
I took off my glasses and put the tube up to my closed right eye. I then carefully squeezed the tube so that a small amount of the eyeshadow came out. I then carefully moved the tube/applicator across the eyelid. This covered the bottom half of the eyelid so I did another sweep just above this one. I actually got a little on my eyebrow but I believe it was the lack of glasses.
I wasn't put off so I repeated the whole process on my left eyelid. I have to say that I hadn't matched them up perfectly. I had one eyelid with the eyeshadow coming down more than the other one. I tried to do just that little bit, but I got too big a blob from the tip of the tube. It looked darker so I had to remove some of it with a Kleenex tissue.
I touched the eyeshadow immediately and it was wet and did rub off. When I checked it 5 minutes later it had dried completely. It ended up being a really shiny eyeshadow.
Luckily for me I hadn't planned on going out so I didn't worry that it wasn't perfect. Just before bedtime I rubbed the eyeshadow and it still stayed on. I rubbed a little harder and a little tiny bit came off, so this stuff really does stay on. I used one of my cleansers to remove it with no problem.

"Shadow Squease is all about ease. Cream to powder shadow with soft tip applicator dries quickly for hours of smudge proof color.
Ophthalmologist tested.
Suitable for sensitive eyes."
Well, I didn't give up on the product. I have tried it several times. Each time I still mess up with it. When it comes to a lip balm/gloss I have my glasses on and can see what I am doing in the mirror. With the Covergirl Shadow Squease, I have to remove them. It seems impossible for me to get my eyeshadow as I want it. It is a shame as I think this is a neat idea. However, just not for people who have bad eye sight.
I normally love eyeshadow products and are pleased with Covergirl, but not on this occasion. I am really glad that I only paid $1 for this product as I won't be using it anymore.
