I bought the Craftsman 16" Cut Path Reel Mower 37610 at Sears a few years ago. I rent a house in Los Angeles that has a small front lawn and decided I needed to find a way to cut my own lawn and not pay others to do it. I went to the store with the intention of buying one of these push mowers since it would be a good way to get some exercise while taking care of the lawn.

I also thought it would be a useful tool for my son to utilize as he got older. My son turns thirteen in three months and used this Craftsman 16" Cut Path Reel Mower 37610 for the second time today. The weather is a comfortable 75 degrees with the sun shining. The whole lawn does not take an hour to accomplish.

I paid about $79 for this and did not go with an additional warranty. My neighbor put it together for me and suggested I cover the blades so that rain would not damage it. Since there are feral cats in my yard I always place two large plastic bags over the bottom portion so they do not get cut playing in that area.

I lock the mower up with a rake along the side of the fence. I have not performed any maintenance on this and it works just as good as the first day I had it assembled. It took the neighbor about fifteen minutes to assemble and I stood there watching, but not really getting how to do it. The mower chassis was one unit and then there were sections for the upper and lower handle and the blots, rings and nuts.

The rules for safe operation specify to not use the mower wearing sandals or barefooted. Sometimes I wear garden gloves when pushing the mower and my son prefers to use his own hands. We have some rose bushes in the yard that make it hard to maneuver around and my son has a hard time getting the mower over a hump in our front lawn. Other than those issues, this is really easy to push over the grass and cut. The grass hardly ever gets stuck inside the blades and just shoots out into the yard.

There is a way to adjust the blades from the back of the mower with 1/16th of a turn considered a major adjustment. There are instructions for loosening and tightening the blades, but I have yet to do anything with this mower but use it to cut the grass and store it.

There have been a few times when I was going too fast and came to a stop and the mower handle will go over to the other side and sometimes I forget which way I was standing and will use it the wrong way since you can only mow from one direction.

A few strokes over a section of the lawn is all that is needed. The mower is not that heavy to push, my son says it is easy to use except on the slope of the yard than it is hard to get it back to even ground. It is about at his chest level when pushing and he is sixty-one inches tall.

This is such a wonderful mower to use for our needs, it gets the job done quickly and the end result looks nice. Not often do I find it necessary to rake the grass after mowing and will water it a bit and let the birds and cats come and feast.

This comes with a one year limited warranty and does not cover expendable items that become worn during normal use. My other neighbor had one of these years ago and that is the reason why I chose this. Hers was an older model and broke. Once this was assembled she came over and gave me a demonstration. She loved this so much her husband went to Sears and got them one too.

This should not be used on a wet lawn and you need to move items out of the way in the yard before mowing. Your hands and feet should never be near the blades. The mower needs to be kept clean of grass and dirt.
