Pros: Easy to use with the automatic transmission.
Cons: Can't think of any. Great mower for the price.
The Bottom Line: Just can't beat Sears service, and the special deals always give you extra features not available normally. Why pay twice as much for a mower that isn't any better?

I bought the Craftman LTX 1000. It is gold in color and it has a cast iron axle. It also came with the deluxe padded steering wheel and the electric PTO. I must say it is a lot easier to drive because all you have to do is pull back on the handle to stop it. The brake will also stop you in a hurry, but really isn't necessary. I am also happy that the engine has full oil pressure and a filter which will prolong the life of the mower. I received $250.00 off the price plus a $50.00 mail in rebate during the sale. I used my Sears card and got 5 months with no interest. Pretty good deal over all. Just can't beat it for the price, but I would definitely recommend the Kohler engine with hydraulic lifters. Can't get those with a Briggs although I've had many good years of experience with the Briggs engines. Plus all the Kohler engines come pressurized. You have to get up to around 20 horsepower to get that in a Briggs. The $300.00 extra toward the Kohler engine is money well spent. Especially with the sale. I also bought the optional bumper to protect the front end. Might even buy the snow blower attachment. Great mower at a great price compared to other brands.
