Sears has joined the ranks of companies who have shipped living wage jobs to China, and in return, import substandard tools bearing the craftsman label. It is the memories of our father's and grand-father's tools; the best tools with the best warranties, that brings our generation to Sears. And while Craftsman brand mechanics tools are still high quality, drop-forged, and U.S. made, much of the rest of the tool department is peppered with sad imported junk. I'm surprised that Sears executive management has not reflected on the nitch market the brand represents. Rather than embracing their proud legacy and standing above the fray, they seem determined to compete with other big-box chains in the low cost imports market - just what we needed.
