| ldusold's Full Review: Crayola Pip-Squeaks Washable Markers |
Crayola has done it again!!! Whenever I think about buying magic markers, I think of nothing else but "Crayola" brand markers. In my experience, Crayola markers are the most vibrant colored markers that you can buy. Anything else is just a waste of money. Crayola's all new "Pip-Squeaks" are small in size but have BIG COLOR... With these little pip-squeaks, you also have the dependable washability that you've come to love from Crayola markers.
What on earth is a Crayola Pip-Squeak?
Well, the pip-squeak is exactly that, a miniature crayola marker, and perfectly named for it's size. Don't let the size fool you though. While these markers may be smaller in size, they are full of the same high quality color that your large jumbo size crayola markers have. The only difference is that they are shorter, and a bit thinner. The length of one of these pip-squeaks is about 2 inches (not including the cap) You can still color or draw the same way as you would with the classic type of Crayola Markers. The package includes 16 Washable pip-squeaks, that are non-toxic. The colors included are Leprechaun Green - Golden Nugget - Raspberry Squirt - Petite Rose - Tiny Plum - Teensy Teal - Rain Drop Blue - Copper Penny - Dinky Pink - Firefly Red - Toy Poodle Black - Mini Brown - Kitten Gray - Little Lemon - Sweet Violet - and Little Boy Blue.
I have a son who loves to draw, and I do mean DRAW all the time. I am usually finding myself without paper to print on, and while he's used Crayola markers for years now, I have actually had to HIDE my Pip-Squeaks!!! Because I bought those for MYSELF. I use them often for different projects that I do, and with scrap booking etc. The only complaint that I have, is that the Firefly Red is not really a rich red, not like your classic crayola markers. But it's not something that bothers me too much. I deal with it. The other colors are beautiful, and bright, and I love everything about them. The pip-squeaks come in a plastic case, that snaps shut, keeping your little pip-squeaks neat and available to you at any given time. No digging and searching through a box of markers!
The package says "Do Not Shake Markers" I have never given it a thought to shake a marker, but I thought it would be wise to transfer this little tid-bit of information to anyone reading this. Although, I can't figure out WHY they say not to shake the markers, maybe they will explode who knows. I've never tried it - and don't think I ever will either! =) On the package Crayola gives you a website to go to, for craft and coloring ideas, (Crayola.com) along with their 1-800 number. (1-800-Crayola) I can't say that I've ever found a need to use either of these tools, but you never know when it would come in handy.
Crayola has become a name I can trust, and honestly I won't even look at anything other than Crayola brand products for coloring etc. Crayola has proven to be excellent for people that deal with children and the very fact that their markers are formulated to be washable, then why would anyone want to dare try something different? Why take the chance, that's what I always say!
If for any reason you get the markers on your clothing, the package does give you laundering tips. Here is what they say!
For Best Results:
Crayola Washable Markers wash from skin and most washable children's clothing. Wash promptly in hot wash cycle. Do not use pre-wash or chlorine bleach. Repeat laundering may be required.
Stain Advisement:
Keep away from wallpaper, painted walls, finished and unfinished wood, vinyl, carpeting and other materials that cannot be laundered.
I'm not sure what the price of these markers were, I can't remember, but I'm thinking I may have paid around $3.00 for them. Don't quote me on that though. Although I'd like to share, I just have to say that these little Pip-Squeaks are ALL MINE!
