Pros: Kids find them fun.
Cons: Endless cleaning, stained hands. And then it starts all over again. Augh!
The Bottom Line: Personal opinion -- INTO THE TRASH when no one's looking.

| expert_witness's Full Review: Crayola Window FX Mega Markers |
We received these as a gift; I had to disappear them FAST. Yes, kids find them entertaining, but put this into your equation --
1) For sixty seconds of "fun", you'll spend fifteen minutes cleaning off the window. I've gone through a full bottle of Windex in two days.
2) Whatever dyes they use do come off the window. They won't, however, completely come off your hands. After cleaning that window (for the last time!) my right hand still shows signs of green palm, despite repeated scrubbings.
As for the reviewer who attested to their "non-toxic" nature by reporting that their child is "still here" after licking one of the markers, I suggest that only a complete idiot would use that as a criteria for safety. Product after product is discovered to be toxic years later, and a lot of those people who said "Hey, I'm still here, asbestos/weed killer/formaldahyde didn't kill me" are getting cancer and going duh, gee, why me, I didn't smoke... Point is, there are unknown toxins in so many products (the US doesn't require a chemical to be proven safe before putting it on the market, as they do in the EU) that when I see a chemical leaching into my skin and staying there for a couple days, as in the case of this green dye, I can't help asking whether this is really necessary for my lifestyle.
As I said, I couldn't get these terrible things in the trash soon enough. And my poor children will have to go back to crayons.
(You might also find it interesting to do lead tests on crayons -- Crayolas are fine, but I've found many generic crayons from overseas have lead in them. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. Lead tests are $10/pack. So when you go to a restaurant and your kids are chewing on the cheap crayons they gave you to color their happy meals, feel free to say "Hey, they're still here!")
