Pros: None that I'm aware of.
Cons: Requires proprietary software to mount to USB port.
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend this unit to Linux users. You might get it to work, but not without a fair amount of hassle.

It's probably a nice unit if you use Windows, but Linux users are out of luck with this one. It doesn't mount as a drive on the USB port, requiring custom software instead. I did find a GTK program that will allow drag and drop operation. There is also a kernel module that lets you mount it to your filesystem. I could get neither to work. My recommendation is to get an Archos Jukebox. It's not very good, but at least you can plug it in, do:
$ mount /mnt/usb
and biggety-bam, it's just another directory in your filesystem.
I don't really like the form factor too much. It's about the size of a portable CD player - too big to fit into a pocket.
Also the directory structure seemed to be somewhat clunky. (Note that this is part speculation since I was unable to mount the device.) There appeared to be separate directories for tracks, albums, playlists, etc.
I'm returning this unit as soon as I can get to Best Buy.
