Cons: Driver doesn't work on WinXP, software doesn't work on WinXP
The Bottom Line: Software applications are JUNK. The device driver is even JUNK so it can't even be used with other applications. This product has ZERO value.

I just tried to install the Web Cam Pro on a Windows XP system. The box says that WinXP is supported & the directions provide specific references to installation on WinXP, however, the Creative Labs download/support section says the camera is not supported and my personal experience is that it really is NOT supported because it simply DOES NOT WORK on WinXP.
Upon installation WinXP marginally recognizes the device but not as a Creative Labs camera. I then installed the included software and rebooted the PC. The operating system still did not fully recognize the device and the Creative Labs supplied application software DID NOT recognize the device AT ALL.
I then specifically "updated" the camera's driver from the driver included on the CD. During this update I was queried on the specific language required, I selected "English" and the installation continued in English until it was nearly complete, then the "French" driver was installed. A configuration screen then presented itself and my 500mhz PC ground to a screeching halt as CPU utilization pegged at 100%. The config window displayed the camera's picture and could manage a refreshed image only once every couple of minutes. After waiting about 15 minutes to interrupt the app, I had to power down & reboot my PC.
Any time I attempted to access the Web Cam Pro, the PC would return to 100% CPU utilization and would be totally unusable.
While searching Creative Labs web site for a possible updated driver, their support section indicated that the Web Cam Pro was not supported on Windows XP.
The camera is packed back in the box and waiting to be returned.
Creative Labs should be ashamed of themselves for selling this piece of junk and claiming that it's supported on the box when in fact the software is junk and their official support says it's NOT supported. I think the world of Creative Labs sound cards but this is the second time I have purchased a "non-sound" Creative Labs product and was 100% dis-satisfied with it. Save yourself hours of time and run from this product like it was the plague.
This product really deserves ZERO stars!!!!
