WOW.. I love my Nomad. We go everywhere together. With 64 meg Ram I am always ready with my hard rocking beats, or my Handel. I have bought 6 extra smart cards and they help me mix up my mix. Some people have said that I should have bought a cd changer but they do not know the power of the MP3 yet. I have about 19 gb of MP3 on a server somewhere and have the power to take it with me any where. The Nomad is a FM radio for when I need the weather or want to listen to the Cowboys or something. Plus it has equailzer functions. The Stylish shape and finish make it eye catching and I have been hit on just so they could see the sleek MP3 player. The buttons are easy to use even with my fat fingers, and the computer interface is easy to use. It ships with a handy MP3 player/ripper. I am a die hard winamp fan but this player my unseat the king of MP3 players. I love this thing.
This is an addition to my opinion above.
I still love my Nomad. I will be the first to say that it does have a few flaws.
The parallel port is slow. And my printer plugged it to this port. So a USB or Firewire model would be cool.. but I have worked around this problem and I bought a simple A/B Data switch. This allows me to print and load new songs when ever I want.
The WINNT/Windows 2000 problem.. Creative has said that this device will work with Windows 2000. There will be new software soon to alow this to take place. If you are a hardcore computer guru like I am I found ways around the WINNT problem.. I have a small 1 gb partition for WIN 98 and this will allow me to get to my device.
I have saved about 500 dollars to date using my Nomad. I do not have to buy CD's anymore and that is worth some small inconvences.
