| nodnarb788's Full Review: Creative Technology Nomad II (32 MB) MP3 Player |
I recently purchessed this Nomad IIc Mp3 player at a local Best Buys. I usually buy electronics off the web, but the price ($100 after rebates) was just as low as the web.
The first thing I noticed was how compact and lightweight it was. Even though they get smaller, I don't see why anyone would need an mp3 player smaller than this. It easily clips on to your shorts while running.
The headphones that they come with are great. I am not saying that they are top of the line, but compared to the painful earphones, these are much better.
LIke any other gadget, you have to mold it (in other words buy acessories) to fit your needs. For instance, if you wanted to use this mp3 player solely to exersize for no longer than an hour, then you are set to go with everything it comes with; you can listen to it for about an hour without repeating songs. Even though it advertises that you can store 2 hours of music on it, to use it in that mode you would be sacraficing quality. If you want CD qualtity audio, then 1 MB would store about 1 minute. I would highly reccomend that you go onto ebay and purchase an extra 128MB card for around $50, which would overall give you over three hours of music. If you needed more than that, then you could either buy another card and just switch out cards, or instead purchase a jukebox like the Archos 6000 which would store 6000 minutes of music, but you couldn't take it to go jogging.
Ah... and the Menus...
I really like how the player is layed out. On the menu screen, you can select music which would show you the names of every song you have stored, then you could play it. Then you could switch to voice recording mode (good feature/ ok quality). THere is a built in MIcrophone for recording your own voice notes. Then you can also from the menu display then time and date, your name and number (in case it gets lost) and other info about the player.
That pretty much sums it all up besides the negative info which is nothing more than it not coming with cord to plug it in to the wall.
