The Bottom Line: CTP offers a number of counting aids including charts to aid skip counting by 2s, 5s, 10s, and counting to 100

Note: as with most of the items I review in this category the items are not NECESSARILY toys, games, game    boards, game pieces or office supplies per se, rather these are classroom type materials intended for use with primary and older age students in a classroom or home school setting.

Notethe graphic shown on Epinions is the Basic Skills Chart count to 100 with tens emphasized.  The graphic shown on each of the click through vendor sites is the 100th Day Counting Chart.  These are 2 separate, and valuable charts used in the Early Childhood Program.
Creative Teaching Press' Count to 100 Counting Chart is an especially worthwhile and serviceable visual aid for Osage County First Grade.

Counting to 100 is something most First Graders can accomplish without undue problem, and pretty quickly in the school year, in fact, many have mastered the task in Kindergarten, and remember the numbers will little problem despite the long summer hiatus.

On the other hand, numeration, place value and counting the groups of ten is a tad more gnarly.

Osage County First Grade makes use of several different counting aids during the First Grade year.  One of the Oklahoma State Teaching Standards, as is found in most if not all state teaching standards, addresses number sense or the facility of students to understand, recognize, write down and represent number, numeral and number relationships to 100 via use of tangible representations of tens and ones to grow the concept of place value as well as evaluate and organize items by comparing objects by magnitude and amount including the theory of more than, less than, and equal to as well as utilize ordinal numbers first through tenth.

First Grade Students are expected to read and write numerals to 100 along with counting as many as 100 items by ones, twos, fives, and tens and exploring concepts of fractional parts including fourths, thirds and halves.

CTP offers a number of counting aids including charts to aid skip counting by 2s, 5s, 10s, and counting to 100, 200 and so forth.

A handy chart measuring 17 X 22 inches, featuring numbers 1 through 100, and completed with copy machine ready, reproducible work sheet activities on the back, generated with the finest quality substance including heavy duty card stock paper and non toxic, classroom safe inks with your child in mind and offered as not only counting 1 - 100 but with the tens clearly delineated is not only a super reinforcement classroom device; it is an especially usable one.

I find the chart shown in the graphic on Epinions is great way of displaying the numerals 1 - 100, helps to form enthusiasm and understanding as students learn to count and build place value understanding and provides all students with a visual, tangible item for classroom usage.  Because each set of 10 is highlighted with color Little Learners begin to visualize the groups of ten more quickly, place value becomes more understandable and we have fewer Little Mathematicians facing frustration as they approach that thorny place value concept.

Happy to recommend Creative Teaching Press' Counting to 100 Chart  and submit to the BACK TO SCHOOL Write Off

From the Creative Teaching Press site: Creative Teaching Press (CTP) is a family-owned and teacher-managed supplemental educational publisher for grades PreK-8.

CTP is a recognized leader in the industry and offers a wide variety of learning décor and research-based, teacher-tested products that deliver standards-driven content including: phonics, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. CTP celebrates more than four decades of providing parents and teachers with high-quality, easy-to-use solutions.

In 1965, Luella Connelly was a classroom teacher looking for products that  would pick up where textbooks left off. After 17 years in the classroom, she knew that students often needed something beyond textbooks to reinforce skills in a creative and comfortable way.

Connelly created "Recipes for Creative Writing," a box of 4" x 6" cards full of writing ideas. What started as a simple idea to help students learn, turned into a company that Luella and her husband, Pat, ran until their retirement in 1998.

The company's big break came in 1977 with the introduction of its innovative Scratch ‘n Sniff reward stickers. Market response to these stickers was phenomenal, with teachers and students all over the world buying and collecting them!

Since the Scratch ‘n Sniff phenomenon, CTP has been at the forefront of the educational market. CTP expanded offerings to cover educational needs for grades PreK-8. Its editors, product developers, and authors all have classroom teaching experience and regularly visit classrooms and attend workshops and conventions to ensure that CTP's products are what teachers want and need!

Jim Connelly, Luella and Pat's son, has held multiple titles and responsibilities since joining the company in 1982. He was named president in 1994. In his tenure with CTP, the company has quadrupled its sales and expanded its international market presence.
