critic27's Full Review: Creative Technology ZEN V Plus (4 GB) MP3 Player
It's small, has a bright LCD screen and fairly easy to figure out to use if you've owned mp3 players before. It took me a minute to figure out that holding the back button takes you to the Menu. It plays mp3 and WMAs.
You can create play lists on your computer and load it onto the player. It's compatible with Napster and Yahoo Music "Play For Sure" program. I tried to use the player with Napster 7-day free trial for their unlimited program but could not figure out how to get any song onto the player without having to pay $0.99 for each song.
Other features the player has, although I have not tried using because it died: video play back, photos, use it as a flash drive for files, has some sort of "appointment book" feature.
During my 12-hour use of the player, I found that some songs had "artifacts" in them like the song was skipping. If you replay the song, the artifacts does not reappear. The skipping occurs randomly during play. When the songs are playing correctly, the sound seems decent when using Shure Ec3 headphones.
I did not like the fact that it only charges by USB since I don't keep my computer on all night long just to recharge the player. I'm used to my iRiver that used one AA battery.
