sascec's Full Review: Cuisinart DCC-1200 12-Cup Coffee Maker
After years of using average coffee makers, a family member recommeded this model to me. I did not really want to spend so much for your basic coffee model (since up to that point, I had gone through pots at the rate of one per three years). The way I looked at it, "how could you improve on water dripping through a filter?". Let me tell you that Cuisinart has improved on the standard model and after five years, it is still going strong. Here is what makes this unit so great: 1) It makes HOT coffee! It has a temperature adjustment that lets you set the temperature and hot means HOT!. 2) It has a filter that works well (unless you over fill the coffee filter and the grinds run over into the water reservoir). 3) It automatically shuts down (and beeps to tell you) after a while. 4) It is programmable 5) You can reheat coffee with it. 6) I have never had a leak or overflow with it. 7) It has an adjustment for coffee strength. 8) Consistent performer. Day in and day out for five years!
You can get water filters for it from Amazon for about $5 each. This model has been out forever and parts are readily available.
