Pros:Looks. Gold Filter Included. Carbon filter provides GREAT tasting coffee.
Cons:Fingerprints. Price.
The Bottom Line: If Great Tasting Coffee and Style are a MUST for you, you can't go wrong with this Cuisinart Coffee Maker.
When I went shopping for a new Coffee Pot, I had one thing in mind - it had to be silver. This turned out to be harder to find than expected. After looking at Target a few other places, I finally found one at Bed Bath & Beyond.
I expected to pay about forty dollars and ended up spending over twice that. I haven't regretted it though. This Cuisinart has been worth every penny.
To start, it just looks cool. I love the commercial and retro look of it.
Couple that with the fact that it makes great tasting coffee, and you've got a winner! My mother came to visit during Christmas and remarked on how good my coffee tasted. I told her which brand of coffee I used and she purchased some while she was in town. When she got home, she called me to say that she had made some of her "new fancy coffee" but that it didn't taste as good at her house as it had at mine. She deduced that it must be due to my coffee maker.
My Cuisinart comes with a replaceable carbon filter. I really feel that this is what gives my coffee such good flavor. Given the quality of tap water these days, I was impressed by this feature and it was one of the things that convinced me to spend as much as I did.
Another thing that I felt made it worth the price was that it includes a gold filter. No more paper filters. Less expense, less waste!
Cuisinart Brew Central is programmable as well. Not only can you set it to begin brewing just before you get up in the morning, you can also program it to turn off after a certain amount of time. No more turning back 1/2 way to the car to verify that you turned the coffee pot on. No more burnt coffee on the bottom of the pot that is impossible to clean and smells like feet! Programming is easy and quick.
If you having company or are a marathon coffee drinker, this pot makes 12 cups. More coffee to enjoy & less time spent making more.
If you've only got time for a couple of cups, or if you are keeping your caffeine intake to a minimum, you can also program your Cuisinart to make as little as 1-4 cups of coffee.
Additionally, you can set the temperature of the carafe. Select either Hi/Med/Lo for the temperature that you prefer.
The only small downfalls I have found in the five months since I purchased my Cuisinart Brew Central is that sometimes it turns off when I'm still working on my pot of coffee. The silver lining is that there is a short beep when this happens, and I simply return to the kitchen and flip the switch back to "ON". That and the fingerprints, which show anytime you touch it.
If you're in the market for a new Coffee Maker, this is one that'll last for years and give you coffee that is REALLY "good to the last drop".
