The Bottom Line: Don't buy this, makes poor bread.
My Cuisinart CBK-200 bread machine has never made a decent loaf of bread since I bought it in 2005 so I stopped using it long ago.I picked up an old West Bend at a thrift store and that makes pretty good bread. But it has only two settings, basic and whole wheat, and I wanted to make gluten-free bread, so I dug out the Cuisinart again recently and the result was an underbaked loaf with a burnt crust.
I tried a neighbour's Black & Decker using the same recipe with good results. At the same time they tried my Cuisinart for both white and whole wheat bread, with disappointing results.
Years ago when I first complained to Cuisinart I was told their recipe book was inaccurate. Another rep I talked to later denied this.
I got the Cuisinart to replace a Black & Decker that I used for several years and made pretty good bread until it wore out. But the best machine was my first one given to me when breadmakers first came out. It was a Welbilt, which had a large glass globe in its lid and unfortunately one day wobbled off my counter and smashed on a tile floor. The company must have gone out of business as I could not track it down or I would have bought another one. Everybody loved the bread it made!
