Cuisinart CBT-700 Blender Review -- Great For Parties
Written: Jun 3, 2012
Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
I do not own this blender but I was the operator of the blender in review at my sister-in-law's anniversary party which was held at one of our local Holiday Inn banquet facilities which I may consider reviewing later on.
There were some 75 people at this party and they had only one blender out for us to use so knowing we would probably need an additional blender just to make things easier on me, the bar brought another one for us to use which happened to be the Cuisinart CBT-700 Blender. I hear it didn't actually belong to the bar, but was owned by an employee who graciously said we could use it via a much appreciated phone call.
Remind me to never volunteer for something like this again! It was way too much work when you are trying to have some fun too.
What I Thought About the Cuisinart CBT-700 Blender:
Not too bad. It was speedy and done very well with the crushed ice and heavy use for a few hours without getting hot.
The unit is made up of metal and glass. A plus in my book. I really hate plastic. It has an awesome Power6 Turbo-Edge blade that can cut through most anything you want to put in it. Things edible that is.
There were plenty of speeds to play with and the glass container was plenty large enough to make several frozen drinks at one time. Granted I was not using glasses the size of Hurricane wares but 8 ounce plastic cups was enabling me to push several drinks out at a one time. Thank Goodness.
There is a timer function for things like smoothies. If you wanted to put something on and go do another task while blending, you could and the blender would stop when it is suppose to, up to 3 minutes blending time. I generally just like to stand and watch it and decide myself when it's finished.
Cleaning the blender out between uses was easy but I did notice that the lid was a bit warped or did not fit well enough as it was leaking a bit as it blended. The machine really looked as if it were close enough to new to consider the lid to be a flaw and not something that happened after purchase. It was not a bad leak but certainly annoying enough.
Every button worked fine. I have had new blenders have a button that would stick a bit. The mix was complete and fast. You know how you have to shake some blenders to move the contents a bit to ensure even blending? Not this one. It did a bang up job on that. Over-all I really liked the Cuisinart CBT-700 Blender.
It is dishwasher safe and cleans up easily.
Features (obviously I have to look these up to list everything accurately)
700-Watt of blending power Die-cast metal housing with backlit functions Dishwasher safe 56-ounce; glass easy-pour blender jar Pre-programmed smoothie and ice crush functions Backlit count-up timer with beep after 3-minute of blending time

Side Note:
It is a bit noisy. I honestly can't tell you that it is any noisier than any other blender but it seem to me it was. Maybe that is what you get when you get something that goes through ice as if it were icecream. haha!
Hope this review helped you in your decision making.
