Pros:Coffee plus hot water dispenser. No paper filters.
Cons:The teflon on the heater plate starts to peel.

I was given a Cuisinart CHW 12 for Christmas. I really liked the coffee maker. But, a couple months after having it the teflon on the heater plate started to peel. I was able to exchange it at the store for another one. That was in March and now the same problem is happening with this one. There is an area on the heater plate that is discolored & rough feeling. I keep the temperature set at medium. The metal has not started to show yet as it did in the first one, but I am very careful when wiping. Has anyone else had this problem? And do you know if it can be a safety issue? Being that this is the second one I think I will be returning this one to the store & exchanging it for a Bunn! That was my old brand of coffee maker. In fairness to Cuisinart I did email them & was told I could mail the unit to them, but I don't want to be without a coffee maker or out the postage.
