Cons:Bad design, breaks a lot, uses a lot of beans
The Bottom Line: Stay away from Cusinart coffee makers
My main complaint about this unit has to do with the design flaw. We use the automatic timer and 4 out of 7 days we wake up to a continuous beeping and clicking because for some reason either the basket over-rotates or the metal door gets stuck and the coffee grinds bind up. I know this because it sometimes takes 3 times in a row to get the grinds to go through even after thoroughly cleaning the unit. What a waste of beans, as it already uses too much. I have also tried using pre-ground coffee and to my surprise also woke up to continuously clicking as the basket still needs to rotate even though it's not grinding. It is sad that when we hear the coffee maker go off in the morning, both my husband and I cross our fingers to hope it works so we don't have to get out of bed to fix it. After a year of waking up stressed, we are finally giving up on this. I have called Cuisinart support and despite all the other bad reviews and calls to them, they seem to have no idea what's going on. They will not back up their products so I will never purchase another Cuisinart or Conair product again!
