Pros:Brews good coffee and keeps it hot for hours without getting stronger and bitter.
Cons:Takes care to screw on carafe lid. Coffee must be poured slowly.
The Bottom Line: For convenience, ease of operation, attractive, clean design, and consistently good hot brewed coffee available all day from one pot, I recommend it.
Brews great coffee quickly. Convenient beeper to notify when done. Has easy to fill water reservoir and good access to filter basket.
Keeps coffee hot 8 hours and very warm even longer without having to be on a warming tray. It's great to have hot coffee available all day long without it degrading and becoming bitter and strong. Coffee made in the evening is still plenty hot the next morning.
Have been using it consistently since Christmas 2007 and have never had a mechanical problem or overflow. The paper filters work fine and are easy to dump carrying the basket.
Some reviewers complained about the tiny clock and I can see their point if they're relying on it as their "Kitchen Clock." We don't and find it perfectly adequate to the task of programming the brew cycle.
The top of the carafe is difficult to screw on quickly without cross-threading. With a little care though it can be done easily....a small trade-off to make for hot coffee.
The coffee does not pour from the carafe quickly, another small trade-off to make for hot coffee.
The only small hassle we've noticed is that sometimes it's difficult to get the filter basket to seat properly so the carrier can swing back into place completely.
We have found this Cuisinart 12-Cup Coffeemaker Model: DTC-975N to be excellent and we recommend it.
