Pros:The Cuisinart name, Least expensive, highest quality-sturdy, dishwasher safe
Cons:Cuisinart needs to do more promotion and advertising of their great products
About two years ago, I was in the market for a stainless steal cookware set. I had gotten tired of having to replace my nonstick pans every month because they would scratch, warp, or the coating would come off, on my food! And I have tried the most expensive "non-stick" anodized aluminum pots and pans. None of them are as durable as stainless.
My problem? I didn't want to spend a lot. The highest quality, stainless, which is 18/10 surgical grade, usually costs the most. So you can imagine my shock when I saw a complete set of Cuisinart stainless on sale! Everybody knows the quality of the Cuisinart name, but this stainless is one sturdy set of cookware. After two years, it looks just as fresh and new, with not a single scratch, as the day I bought it. And you know I'm really hard on my cookware. It's constantly getting banged, dropped, scraped etc..everyday....So, this is quite an achievement for this Cuisinart cookware to look as new as it does after two years.
I know some people swear by non-stick, but I use my Cuisinart stainless omelet pan to cook the best omelets and scrambled eggs, I just spray the pan with Pam and add a little butter, and I can't tell you the luxury of not having to fumble through the cabinet searching frantically for a wooden or non metal spatula! I've seen the anodized Caphalon pots in the department stores, but when you run your finger over them, a residue comes off! Supposedly you are supposed to wash these Caphalon pots before the first use. But for that kind of money, I should be able to use them right off. Frankly, that Caphalon residue was very unappetizing period.
There must be a reason why all the 5-star chefs on those cooking shows are constantly using stainless steal. I grew up seeing all stainless-steal stock pots on our stove, so it adds a classic, beautiful look to the kitchen. I just simply like the way food looks cooking in a stainless pan rather than a non-stick one.
Again beware though, cheaper stainless-steal brands, which are not 18/10 will not hold up, and they are not heavy enough to cook food evenly and without hot spots. They tend to warp and get discolored easily. That's what's so wonderful about Cuisinart offering the highest quality stainless, and least expensive than all the others.
