Pros: Grinder, Stainless Carafe, timer all great ideas
Cons: Flawed design, difficulty cleaning the parts and lack of soundproofing insulation on turbine motor :-(
The Bottom Line: Look past this one. The noise, difficulty cleaning and potential for failure of the filter compartment far outweigh the brew product offered by this model.

I bought this machine with confidence because it's made by Cuisinart but alas; I immediately discovered that turning the brewer on without the grinder assembly locks the unit into a beeping tore which required nothing shy of pulling the plug to reset it. Followed by of course, adjusting the present and program times again. Later that week I ventured to grind fresh beans. At 4:30am the sound of the grinder kicking on was quite an eye opener (sounding much like a turbine starting). Now I must say, I was quite pleased with the end product, but cleaning the many parts became a little tedious. Then, several weeks later, I emerged from my morning shower looking forward to my first cup but all I found was that the filter compartment had "popped" open, presumably when the turbine started, and there was a mess of grinds and water all over my counter, wall and of course the unit itself. After that day my wife and I implemented a "preflight" check of the filter compartment which entailed tapping it several times around the release button to ensure it was latched closed. After three days of this ritual, it happened again. This time I did not bother cleaning the unit, I threw it into the trash.
