Cons: No service option after warranty, no matter how minute.
The Bottom Line: Look at it in the store and imagine how nice it would look on your counter, then buy another brand that lasts and is serviceable when it breaks.

This coffemaker was over $200 when I bought it 5yrs ago. After several little stumbling blocks including buying the special water filters in an unnecessary case lot, it worked well and was enjoyable until it just quit the other day. After repeated correspondence with the company I was left with a fairly large investment that was not even a consideration for repair by the company. Sadly, the company does not offer repair on this $200 expensive piece. My 20 yr old, $29 Mr Coffee however, came out of the storage shed and still makes the same drip coffee that this did after the company wouldn't repair it for me. There is something to be said for durability. No matter how nice it looks and how good the coffee, if it has a short lifespan then I don't think its worth $200. Seems a terrible shame that the landfill is going to get this when the workmanship appeared so good. Cuisinart/Conair does not offer service for defective or failed products. When it is within warranty, the company does a full replacement and apparently sends the old one to the landfill too. One of the big problems seems to be getting the upper crust of the company aware that the marketing and design departments are operating on different pages.
