Unfortunately, I married into this coffee maker. It liked him, not me. My husband is a software engineer with an IQ of 175. Do not buy this product unless you fit into that category. It demands a lot of time to clean, dry it, and reassemble and is complicated to use.
If you do not do it properly you will have coffee all over the floor. If you forget to put the screw on lid on the coffee pot, you will have coffee all over the floor. Because the pot is stainless steel, you can't see if you've dumped the left over coffee out and you will have coffee all over the floor. The best is yet to come! I swore the filter section was closed properly, but when the auto grind came on 5 AM the morning we were due to catch a plane to go on vacation, it popped open yet the coffee maker continued to "brew" coffee while the happy little grinds floated away! I had at least 20 square feet of coffee AND grinds not only all over the floor, counter and in my two pot drawers and all in my pots!
At 5 AM; " What a MESS. Honey, I have to clean this up. I need a cup of coffee. Oh, wait, it's all over the floor!" My husband and I spent about 30 minutes and every spare towel in the house cleaning it up. Oh, yes, this was the second time this happened. We are have one on our boat too that will have a new home in a very nice college dorm room soon.
