OK, picture a 7.5 month pregnant lady walking into Best Buy with only one thing on her mind... "must have slushie." Now I am a Christian woman who believes our cravings are to be monitored and denied if harmful, but really, how bad can a little ice and flavor be? The sugar, and coloring, oh well, the slush puppie hound looks to be in good health, right?
Here's the ticket, your very own slushie/sorbet/icecream/frozen yogurt maker. No artificial colors, flavors or funny stuff, and even less sugar if you want. No trans-fat either.
I've had my slushie maker for over a month now (I'm due to have this bundle of joy any day now) and use this thing every day. If the bowl is not in the freezer before I go to bed, I wake up at 1 am in a cold sweat, go and visit the bathroom (remember, I'm pregnant), then place it in the freezer. Some of my personal recipes include:
Vitamin Water/ Lemonade Slushie

1 container of Formula 50 Vitamin Water
Equal amount of Santa Cruz Organic lemonade
Enough water to reach to the required 1/2 inch from the top of the bowl
Put stuff in bowl. Turn knob to "on." Use rubber scraper to loosen sides. Enjoy and freeze leftovers (that is if your kids don't hound you for them) in a zipper bag.
Super-Rich Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

1 c Cocoa
1 c Organic Sugar
1 c Maple syrup (more vitamins than regular sugar)
1 Large Container of Horizon Organic Plain Fat-Free Yogurt
Put everything In a bowl and mix well with a hand blender (be sure not to burn up your motor chopping the sugar). Put in the ICE-30 and let it churn for about 45 minutes. Put some in a glass with a straw and put the rest in a container in the freezer. Freeze overnight, or get up at 1am and snack again if your up anyway.
