The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this because of the Cuisinart reputation and the quality of the pan.

| Donnie013's Full Review: Cuisinart Multiclad Stainless 10-1/2-Inch Stir-Fry |
My brother-in-law visited and during dinner one night, offered to treat us, during his vacation, to dinner at one of Punta Gordas finer restaurants. He wanted to give me a night away from the kitchen and all that was in it.
While it was a nice gesture, my husband (darn him, anyway!) nixed the idea saying that no restaurant could give you the quality and quantity of the kind of food I prepared. He also said the atmosphere was much more relaxing.
Although a bit disappointed about not going out to dinner, I was awed at my husbands rarely offered compliment. I know he enjoys my cooking but very seldom does he ever say anything. The few times he says anything is when he doesnt like something. Then, hell comment, Honey, youre not going to make this part of our regular diet, are you? Thats how I know when he doesnt like something.
However, as good a cook as I might be, Im also not a very neat cook. Ive splashed and over-boiled almost every meal I ever made especially the ones that need almost constant stirring. One of those meals is my recipe for pepper steak. Peppers and onions, not to mention the oil, were always flying over the sides of my frying pan. Thinking my life might be easier if I had a wok, my mom surprised me for Christmas last year by making that part of my seasonal gift.
Mom did good! as the saying goes. She purchased for me the MultiClad 10-1/2 inch Stir-Fry skillet by Cuisnart. This thing is absolutely awesome!
First of all, this skillet has a flat bottom so it sits perfectly on your cooktop (or stove). There is NO wobbling and NO tipping!
The top of the pan measures about 18 inches and tapers down to about 10 so it sits on your range without overlapping the burner. The height is approximately 4-1/2 inches. Its just the right size for anything you want to cook.
Yes, there is a snug fitting lid for faster, more even cooking.
The core of this stir-fry skillet is aluminum which makes the entire pan heat evenly for better heat distribution.
The entire surface of the skillet is made with highly polished stainless interior with a brushed stainless exterior. You should see this thing shine when I wash it!
I found this skillet great for fast stir-fry meals and even some meals I like to slow cook like my home made chow mein. Its perfect for browning sausages, frying chicken and a variety of other foods you need to cook slowly.
Speaking of frying, there is a safety feature that this skillet has that Ive found in very few other skillets. The drip-free pouring rim is perfect for pouring your foods into the serving dishes.
Many years ago, I bought one of those little baskets you place in large saucepans. This little basket was intended to steam vegetables. Guess what! It fits perfectly in my MultiClad Stir-Fry Skillet.
Another thing I like about my pan is the extra long handle. Because of its length, it makes the skilled more evenly balanced. Thats a great idea because when you need to pick up a skillet filled with food, you surely dont want it falling forward and spilling the hot food all over the floor or worse, all over you!
Im sure like me, many of you have found the need to toss something youve just fried, into the oven to keep it warm or just maybe to make sure its completely cooked. Dont worry about that. You dont need to use an extra dish. This skillet is oven proof for just that purpose.
My skillet cleans easily and leaves no food traces or discoloration anywhere. With skillets I owned in the past, I always had to scrub with a steel wool, soapy pad to regain the shiny finish. So far, with my Cuisinart MultiClad Stir-Fry Skillet, all Ive ever done is place it in my dishwasher and it comes out looking like new! Of course, Im sure, knowing me, there will be times when the soapy steel wool will be needed but so far, that has happened.
By now, most people might be aware of the Cuisinart name and reputation but heres something you might not know. Providing you dont deliberately abuse your Cuisinart MultiClad Stir-Fry Skillet, it will be guaranteed with a limited lifetime warranty.
While I love my Stir-Fry skillet, the only thing Im not too happy about is the lid. Yes, the lid does a great job but I wish it would have been glass so I could see my food as it cooks. But, thats the ONLY complaint I have.
This is really one of the best gifts Ive ever gotten. As I said before, Mom ya done good!
