| staitz's Full Review: Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player |
I was looking for a cheap DVD player that would play all formats and regions. I picked up two of these from BestBuy for about $25.00 each after rebates.
I had read mixed reviews so was not expecting much.
Figured for $25.00 if it broke after a year so what!
Wouldnt be using it much I have a good Philips for the most used TV which runs at least 3hrs a day with the kids.
My first impression was the tiny box which felt rather heavy.
Unpacking was pleasant surprise nice heft and smart looks actually looked slick.
Take a look at Toshiba DVD now thats a real cheap looking and feeling piece of crap.
Took about 5 minutes to set up and connect to my TV.
Put on a fav movie Platoon to check visuals and sounds.
Worked flawlessly.
Downloaded the info on how to hack to multi region.
Took a minute to change to multi-region. Tried a region 2 DVD "Splash" worked flawlessly.
I have got a few DVD's from my library which are never in great condition plays them well with occasional very brief frame pauses but I think that would be the same on my Philips.
Picture and sound are flawless.
I have no complaints.
I had spent $150.00 on a quality DVD which bombed after a year so For this kind of money I think its a good buy.
