I bought these as part of a PC package. Simple to use: plug in, turn on, and set the volume, which is located on one of the satellite speakers. The power switch is on the subwoofer, so that can be inconvenient depending on placement, and there is no independent adjustment between the bass and satellites, so sound can suffer depending on where you are able to place the sub. It seemed that the sub had to be on the desktop right next to me to produce an acceptable bass/treble balance. I am partial to the JBL sound, which is a bit mid-rangey, but these are too thick even for my tastes. There is no clarity or distinction at all - they are just plain muddy and dull. It is worth it to spend the extra money on good speakers.
