Great Lou. Thank you. I just broke down and ordered ours today. We had to get a tractor first to even be able to order it. :-) I really hope it helps us out in the end. Once you add the tractor and the machine together it is not a cheap option.
Thank you.

Hi Lou,
Thanks for the advice. I will keep an eye on the bolts and try to keep them tight. We ordered their video and information kit. In my case I need to take the leaves to the town compost area so I want to order their bin bagger kit. I think the bins will allow me to load the leaves from the cyclone rake into my utility trailer, maybe they will help the cyclone rake bag last longer. We have no pine needles thankfully, just mountains of maple leaves. We like that they have the 60 day trial and the 3 year warranty. The trial gave us the confidence to buy into this.
Thank you for your help.

Steve,
I cannot recommend say enough about the Cyclone Rake! I am into my 3rd year with it and I have to say the company has been awesome with replacement parts..I replaced a bagger twice and a few nuts and bolts that vibrated out. You have to inspect it from time to time and tighten the carriage unit and bagger frame. The bag went on account of the weight from Pine needles. Had It not been for that the bag would have lasted. They now have a better bag with a wider chute opening making emptying a breeze.
I commiserate with you on the push vac; that is work! By ALL MEANS be assured you will absolutely love this tool!
Thanks for the kind words and the read.

Wonderful Review (Reply to this comment)

Hi Lou,
This is an excellent review. I totally enjoyed reading it. We have some nuts number of Maples in our yard that we need to haul all the leaves to our town compost area. I am thinking this with the bagger bins would be a great help. As is I commit about 5 to 6 weekends of solid work with my push yard vac. With the blow in from the school and neighbors I am talking some serious amount of leaves. This looks like a great option. Thank you.

Your comment mentioned hose upgrades, what exactly do you mean? Which hoses and why? Thanks!

Re: Is the Platinum Big Enough (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for the great review! Will it pick up grass clippings while you're mowing, or do you have to go back over the lawn after mowing? My acre of lawn looks like a hayfield after mowing, this unit will be a huge help. Do you think the Platinum would be big enough for an acre of lawn and heavy grass clippings? I spend 2-3 hours raking and disposing of grass clippings. Can a small woman handle this unit?

Steve,
I have 3 acres heavily treed with Maple Oak, Cherry and a perimeter of Norwegian Spruce and Pine trees, so I deal with a lot of needles, twigs and leaves. I find the smaller unit takes me to the curb about 5-7 times, repeating the process every 9 days in the height of leaf season. In addition you have to consider the sheer weight of your content. It mulches down 6-8 times and with a larger hopper it can get heavy. ( keep in mind you are tipping the hopper manually unless you get the power unloader hose) I would opt for the smaller unit for this reason alone. I would highly suggest the hose upgrades as well, they are bulletproof. Hope it helps; it is an amazing tool!

Is the Platinum Big Enough (Reply to this comment)

Great Review, you've mitigated all my concerns. However, there are 3 sizes, Platinum, PRO, and Commercial. I noticed you bought the smaller of the 3. Do you have any regrets? Do you make too many trips to empty? I have 2 acres? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
