Javelina's Full Review: DESERT ESSENCE , Organics Bodywash Coconut 8 oz
I am always trying to use as many natural products as possible, and I also try to get my husband to use them. He really likes coconut, so while I was shopping for my Desert Essence shampoo, I saw the coconut body wash and snatched it up right away!
Desert Essence Organics Coconut Body Wash
I found this body wash at Vitamin Shoppe, although I have seen this brand at health food stores as well. The packaging is simple but attractive, and the body wash comes in the same tube that the shampoos and lotion are also packaged in, so they are easy to spot. There are about 7 scents that this body wash come in (like Italian Red Grape or Vanilla Chai). The price is listed at $8.99 on DesertEssence.com, and I think that's about what I paid for it at the Vitamin Shoppe.

My Thoughts
I have enjoyed the other Desert Essences products I have used. I also sampled their coconut lotion at the store, which smelled heavenly, but I figured I would get the body wash instead of the lotion, since the lotion had a fairly strong smell (not something a guy probably wants in a lotion, to smell like it all day!).
The body wash comes in a tube that stands on it's cap, which is always great for body washes, so they are "ready to go". Each scent is designed differently (like purple for grape), so this container is shades of tan with a color image of a coconut split open. The design is simple but attractive.
The cap snaps open to reveal a small hole. This is my only complaint about this product, is that the entire product line tends to be frustrating in terms of dispensing the product. I have about 3 scents of shampoos that I have purchased repeatedly, and they seem to all dispense slowly, although some more agonizingly than others. My husband and I both find it frustrating that the product squeezes out slowly. I don't want the product to gush out and be excessive, but a little easier would be great.
This product is a clear color. It is like a thick syrup. It isn't too watery and it also isn't too thick - I find the consistency to be just right. This body wash does lather up and I feel like I get a nice coating of soap on me.
This body wash smells fantastic! I always feel like when I buy a natural product, that the scent might be a little mellow or lacking, but this product does not disappoint. This smells like coconut and reminds me of sunscreen when I was a child!
This soap washes off easily and doesn't leave a residue. It also doesn't leave a scent after I dry off. I feel like my skin is "balanced" - not dried out and also not like there is a residue of moisturizer.
Overall
This product has great ingredients, has a great scent, and is enjoyable to use in the shower. It is gentle but cleansing, and both my husband and I like this body wash.
My only complaints are the hole in the cap is too small for dispensing (same complaint I have with Desert Essence shampoos as well), the scent doesn't linger, and availability/price.
