Guy or girl, Dali is the best place to go for a fun romantic dinner(actually, it's great fun for large groups as well).
Dali may not have the best food or sangria around (though it certainly is very good and people tend to find the sangria addictive) but what sets this restaurant apart is the atmosphere. Even seen from the outside, looking at the purple decor and the neon sign, you know you'll have a good time.
Unless you come before 7, you'll most likely have to hang out for a while(no reservations). Last Valentine's day there was a three hour wait.
No matter, to get to the tables, you need to pass the packed long bar with quite the interesting decor - no one else could make garlic, game, and lingerie look so good. Order a pitcher or two of Sangria and pass around the glasses. Combine the Sangria, the Gypsy Kings music, and the atmosphere, and people's personal space tends to shrink to about 30% of what is usually is.
By no means do I want this to be discouraging. Dali is one of the most fun places in town to go. Every night there are a dozen birthday parties, signaled by the flickering lights, the soap bubble gun, and chanting of the wait staff. The celebratory mood abounds, and anyone not in a festive mood by the end of the night has something seriously wrong with them.
The food and drink are definitely expensive, and those who are fans of the big portions will not be happy. Much may seem just average, but three dishes stand head and shoulders above the rest: The meaty mushrooms, the goat cheese, and the tenderloin with figs and apricots - delicious.
So check this wonderful restaurant out - you're almost guaranteed to have a great time.
