Well in the past 5 years just about every restaurant has added onion loaf to their menus. But, I remember about 15 years ago on my birthday going to Damon's and having onion loaf there for the first time. It's not a blooming onion type of thing, oh no. This is a clump of onion rings battered and cooked together. Take a fork and pull them onto your plate and then enjoy. They are very good, but I will warn you they are also very filling. Unless you have a large group just order a half loaf and leave room for ribs!!

Speaking of ribs, these have always been my favorite. Unfortunately about 7 years ago the Damon's in my neighborhood closed down, but luckily one opened just 45 minutes away. Now, are these ribs worth driving 45 minutes for? YES!!!
They use a tomato based sauce, sometimes referred to as a cincinnati type barbacue sauce, as it is used in cincinnati style chili. This sauce tends to have more of a sweet taste with a slow building spice, instead of a hickory taste or a real hot spice. This allows the taste of the ribs to compliment the sauce, instead of the sauce taking over.
These ribs do fall off the bone and have very little grizzle. I would love to tell you about the rest of the menu, but honestly my friends and I just drive down there to enjoy the onion loaf and wings, and have a few drafts during sporting events on their large screen TV.
A great place for the guys to get together , and also a nice place for a family meal, especially if you love ribs.
