Pros: Great sandwiches on fresh bread with bright produce.
Cons: No seating space.
The Bottom Line: Deli sandwiches with a twist plus pre-prepared vegetarian food makes Darwins a great lunch spot on a warm day!

Boston is not New York as further evidenced by Darwin's inspired take on deli sandwiches. Darwin's offers innovative gourmet combinations (pesto chicken, baked eggplant, smoked turkey with exotic cheeses) at regular deli prices. The shop also offers pre-prepared dishes from around the world and an eclectic mix of drinks (my favorite-micro root beers) that complete the experience. Don't expect to sit and eat, only one small table exists and it's always full, so instead enjoy good weather in the square or on the river.
Veggie lovers will appreciate the gourmet pre-prepared foods which are a bit expensive, but pack a tasty punch. Darwin's consistently offers fair prices for exciting lunch options, well worth the walk!
