We found this hotel online and, since we were arriving in Miami on Feb, 29, 2004, we decided to book a room here the night before our cruise.

On the Internet this place sounds great! Free shuttle to Airport, Seaport and Bayside Marketplace! Our room would only cost us $54.00 for the one night that we'd be staying! Restaurant on site! The money we thought we'd save on taxis alone was worth it!

Once we arrived at the Miami Airport however, we soon discovered that things were not going to be as great as we thought they would be.

Yes there is a free shuttle to the Airport. It holds around 7 people comfortably but they do tend to over fill it, with as many as 10 to 12 people at a time! And you constantly circle the airport until they have stuffed enough human cargo in to it to return to the hotel with!

Once we got to the hotel, we found out that our room was not ready. Housekeeping was just being sent to it, so we dropped our stuff off in the room and decided to go to the restaurant on site for lunch, so as to get out of housekeepings way for them to finish.

We weren't sure that the restaurant was even open when we walked inside it, as there were a couple of men sitting there watching some program that was blasting on the t.v. set nearby. When we asked if they were open, we were shown to a table and handed a couple of menus. We each ordered a club sandwich and enjoyed it, though we did have to try to talk above the t.v. set if we wanted to have a conversation. Two club sandwiches, one order of french fries and two small sodas came to around $28.00

We returned to our room later that afternoon. It was a king non smoking room and was laid out about the same as other hotels we have been at - bed, dresser, small table, 2 chairs. We found the room to be very noisy at night, due to the highway noise outside. We saw an outdoor pool on the property but did not use it. We did not see a fitness room on the property. If there was one, it was well hidden.

That night we asked for the free shuttle to the Bayside Marketplace. We were meeting our group down there for dinner at 6:30 pm. We were told the shuttle was running at 5:30 pm but that we'd have to pay for a taxi back to the hotel, as the shuttle wasn't going to pick anyone back up from Bayside that night.

Seems they only had one shuttle bus running and it had to go between Bayside, the Airport and the hotel.

After seeing how many people they were going to jam on to the shuttle that evening, we decided to call for a taxi to take us there and back.

The next morning we met up with some friends, who were also staying at this same hotel, (we'll let them tell their own problems with it), and we all went to the on site restaurant for breakfast, being we'd be leaving from the hotel to go right to the Seaport for our cruise.

Breakfast was a comedy of errors! They offered a "cereal, milk and banana" combo but, when you asked for it, they didn't have any bananas. Plus they brought your cereal bowl to the table with milk already poured in to it and set an individual box of cereal down besides it. My husband and I were just cracking up by this point but our friends did not find any of this experience to be amusing.

We paid for a taxi to go to the Seaport that morning, as their shuttle bus was over filled once more.

Needless to say it was our first and last time staying at this Days Inn. But the good news is that the cruise was awesome!!:))
