I can only reiterate the only other review of this coffee maker. Perhaps one of the most poorly designed carafe-style that a manufacturer ever made. Do the designers at DeLonghi actually make and drink coffee? I bought this for small office use and we've ended up spending more time cleaning up coffee and grounds that have spilled onto the counter rather than going where they are supposed to go..like in the carafe.

The basket must be positioned EXACTLY into the holder, and that doesn't even insure that it will not drip coffee. That's because the other variable is the carafe itself. The drip stop feature is linked to the EXACT position of the carafe on the unit. There is an arm located on the back of the carafe compartment that must be fully depress before it reaches a point where the basket will open, so instead of one or two mechanical variables that require it to work, you have three. Unacceptable design.

To add injury to insult, to turn the brew cycle on, the required button must be depressed twice because these designers though that was clever. The first press activates the programmed feature. Funny how every other coffee maker has figured this extremely difficult task out....

My advice is to never, never, never purchase a product without looking first at Epinions. I usually do, but I was out shopping and this unit was on sale..what a deal!
