Dewalt 18 volt cordless Adjustable hammerdrill drill.
We decided finally to do many of the renovations around the house that we had been putting off. So this year I purchased the Dewalt 18-volt 4-tool combo pack for my husband. One of the items in this pack was this portable, powerful 18-volt drill. WOW, they are great. People always talk about having the right tools for the job. YES, these are the right tools.
One of the first tasks my husband worked on was the rain gutters. The 6 in nail tip pitons that had been securing the gutters to the house were coming loose frequently.
We purchased a new set of screw tip pitons to replace the hammered-in pitons. Well, he got up on the ladder, removed the old pitons, and replaced them with the new screw tip ones. ZZZipp with the drill driver and it's in good and solid. Then on to the next. 30 minutes later they're all done. Most of the time was spent getting up and down the ladder or moving the ladder to the next spot.
Another task was to replace the bathroom subfloor. He sized and cut the wood to fit. Then he drilled pilot holes with a drill bit before changing tips to a screw tip to secure it. ZZZipp drill a pilot hole, switch tips, ZZipp screw it down and on to the next. He secured the new floor in place with sheet rock screws and was done with the entire floor in less than a day. This included cutting and fitting the new wood to size. The floor doesn't squeak or give when you walk on it. It is flat and smooth. He also used the 18 volt portable circular from the kit to section and remove the old floor.
The kit came with a battery charger and 2 rechargeable batteries. The batteries last a long time and recharge very quickly.
The drill has an adjustable torque setting so the power can adjusted when used for sensitive items that can be ruined if overtightened.
I have also used the drill myself. It is a little heavy and awkward because of the battery extension, but it has real power behind it.
I'm sorry I didn't buy them years earlier.
