| bersh's Full Review: DeWalt Heavy-Duty 7 1/4" Circular Saw DW364 |
I am a huge fan of DeWalt products. I used to have an el-cheapo Skil saw that was heavy and not very powerful. I then borrowed my father-in-law's Makita, and it was nice, but I didn't like the lack of electronic brake, and it was very awkward to adjust. Based on the great success I had with the DeWalt 18v. cordless drill, when it was time to purchase a circular saw, I knew that I was going to buy a DeWalt. The problem was that I just didn't know which one.
After looking at my choices, I finally settled on the DW364 due to the ease of adjusting both the cutting depth and angle. It is possible to change either in only a couple seconds, with easy guides telling you exactly where they are set. This was a big bonus, as a number of my projects require that I have to cut through many different materials of varying thickness.
The motor is powerful enough that I have yet to bog it down, even in very knotty or hard wood. It also cuts through high-density board like butter.
