| PhoenixFlight's Full Review: DeWalt Heavy-Duty Barrel Grip Jig Saw DW323K |
After 15+ years in the construction business I think I know my tools pretty well. Along with the Milwaukee brand power tools that I own, DeWalt is my other choice when it comes to buying quality products for my toolbox.
One of the main reasons that I like DeWalt tools so much is the factory warranty. Not only do they offer a full one-year warranty for factory defects but also if one of my DeWalt tools goes down the company will loan me a replacement while they repair it. Anyone in the business knows that downtime means no money and this warranty feature is a great deal.
I have a few different models of Jigs but I use this one mostly for finish work because of its lightweight. The keyless blade changing capabilities make it easy to change blades without having to hunt for a key making it very handy moving from a rough wood saw blade to a finish blade very quickly. I also like the balance to the 323K, it just seems to fit my hand very well.
A nice feature not found on a lot of jigsaws is the dust blower at the front to keep the sawdust from impairing my vision while I am making a cut. If you cant see the line, you wont make the perfect cut that you need for finishing work. Another nice feature is the adjustable shoe, the part of the saw that rests on the wood while you are cutting. You dont need tools to adjust it and you can get up to a 45-degree angle in either direction.
For what I use this Jig for it is perfect even if it does have a small blade stroke. You may want to consider a bigger model if you are going to be cutting a lot of ½ inch to ¾ inch plywood. The AC/DC powered 323 will cut it but I find a larger Jig to be better for the job.
Give it a test-drive because another good thing about DeWalt is their 30-day no questions asked return policy. You dont like it, take it back and get your money.
