Pros: Compatibility with all DeWalt batteries, big knobs, sturdy rollcage with suspension, and plenty of volume.
Cons: NONE.
The Bottom Line: If you need a jobsite radio that can take the abuse of everyday use, and charges/runs off your DeWalt Batteries, this can't be beat.

| theoldmandave's Full Review: DeWalt Job-Site Radio/Charger DW911 |
We could not live without this radio. We tried off-the-shelf boomboxes from electronics stores, but they were either to quiet, or too fragile. This thing is plenty loud for a whole house, and can take some serious punishment. The whole unit is suspended in a rollcage of strong plastic, with rubber bumpers between the cage and the main body. Because of its large size, it's always bumping into doorways and falling off of stacks of joint compound buckets, but it just bounces and rolls and keeps on playing. My favorite feature is how the unit charges any DeWalt battery when plugged into an outlet, but will automatically run off of that battery if it is unplugged. It will easily run all day on a fully charged 18-volt battery and can run without a battery if plugged in to the wall. It also has an auxillary port on the front that can play music from any audio device (CD Player, MP3 player, etc) but you need a male-to-male headphone cable (3.5mm) to connect to this port. The three knobs on the top are clearly labled and easily used to select between the Aux port and AM/FM reception. The volume adjustment is steady and reliable and the tuning know can be perfectly set for the best signal quality. Sound quality is great and reception is usually clear. Only occasionally we have to move the unit to the other side of a room to keep it from breaking up whenever someone walks by. Once, while fooling around, I dropped a big glob of joint compound right in the speaker grille and thought it would mess something up. I removed the four screws for that grille and found that the holes were small enough to keep anything from actually contacting the speaker membrane. I rinsed it off and remounted it and never had a single fault. If it ever broke for any reason, I would probably replace it with the same model because the newer one with all the presets and buttons looks fragile and complicated. This one with its simple design and easy interface seems nearly indestructible.
I love it.
