Last June my wife presented me with the "Dewalt Job-Site Radio/Charger DW911" for my birthday. Having just ruined my old radio during my current project, I immediately pressed it into service. Although I was initially disappointed by the lack of a CD player, I quickly realized the Aux port was a better option. This radio has a tendency to be shoved, bumped and kicked during projects. As a UPS driver, I spend many long hours on the road with nothing but a loud engine to listen to. With a rating of 12 hrs. run time on a battery, I knew it would last at least one day on the road. I use a 14.4 volt battery in my radio and get anywhere from 14 to 18 hrs. of play with the radio at 1/2 volume. The sound quality is excellent even at full volume. The high impact plastic roll bar/handle provides excellent protection and the curved front lets you set the radio back up easily. My radio has survived a fall from 5 feet and never stopped playing.

This radio charges 9.6 volt up to 18 volt Dewalt batteries in 1 hr. but the radio has to be on and plugged in for the charger to work. The manual also suggest occasionally leaving an older battery to charge for up to 6 hrs. to restore any lost capacity of the battery. I highly recommend this unit to anyone owning Dewalt cordless tools. The radio doesn't come with a battery so if you don't own Dewalt cordless tools this radio would either be just an expensive shop radio or an excellent excuse to get some new Dewalt cordless tools.
