Very Creative and Worth Getting

Pros: excellent musical variety and creativity

Cons: somewhat irritating gurgling black metal vocals

The Bottom Line: Buy Death's Design if you are open minded and enjoy both progressive rock and extreme metal. I like this CD abundantly.

This is one of the most creative and unusual musical compositions I've ever come across. Blackheim (the artist who put this all together) combines heavy metal, progressive rock, twentieth century classical music and black metal vocals to creative an eerie, beautiful and powerful work of art. The production quality is stellar. Death's Design is one long composition broken into many smaller movements. Many changes in tempo and volume keep you guessing about what's just around the corner. I can't help but think this is what Yes would sound like if they watched a marathon of horror movies whilst Jon Anderson battled throat cancer.
