| godzthunder's Full Review: Dell Dimension 2350 (D235RL) PC Desktop |
Dell brags to have award winning support, and this is too true! Their technical service staff consists of people who are knowledgable of PC's and are overly friendly. They apologize for all technical issues you are having and do all they can to help you resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
As for the product itself, Dell's desktop computers are fully upgradable and are customizable. You start with the basic package, in this case the 2350 Dimension, which comes with a celeron OR pentium 2 Ghz processor, 128 MB of RAM ( though I reccommend 256 and in most cases you can get a special where you get a free memory upgrade), Windows XP home, the best thing to happen to windows since Win 95 I must say, and a host of features and software packages. I reccomend getting a DVD/CDRW combo drive, a CD drive that offers both re-writable and DVD features.
The only downside to the 2350 as with most Dell's is the lack of a floppy disk drive. The reason for this neglect is because the computer industry is trying to phase out floppys completely. With the release of rewritable CD's AND the new memory pens (sticks of memory you plug into any USB drive, no setup required for win 98 and above that range up to 500MB's of memory), you do not need a small megabyte floppy. Still, many of the computer users in the world today still have a great need for floppy's. Do not let this discourage you though because you can always get a pen drive OR at least a USB external floppy.
I will not bore you with technical data details as you can get that in the main review page I will just say that Dell makes sure that they use parts that are complient with one another. You never have to worry about your computer components and periphials having a confliction with one another.
Did I mention that the basic package is CHEAP??? To top that off I purchased my desktop from Dell's refurbished outlet, they offer the same promise of workmanship and have the same warrenty (1 year or more if purchased, just like a new). They also offer a much cheaper price. My dimension cost only $260 with a purchase of a new monitor 19" at $99 I think I have a great deal.
The graphics and sound on this computer are perfect for any practical, internet, or game user. Overall this computer is one of the best on the market right now!
It also has two USB plugs on the front and four additional in the back for the future of computing (USB 2.0). Ethernet is integrated in the motherboard
