Pros: Short tower design doesn't take up much room, Power light very visible, Easy access case.
Cons: Very noisy cooling fans, Slow speed, Not much room in case for adding new hardware.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this computer to people that are buying their first computer. It is not the right computer for you if you want a very high speed computer.

| jf67-4_839's Full Review: Dell Dimension 2350 (D235RL) PC Desktop |
I have had this computer since about 2002 and it works great for a while, but slows down fast. I have had to re-install Windows XP Home Edition 2 times since I bought it because of the way it gets slow. It is running ok right now because I just recently re-installed the OS, but it will slow down within a few months. I like the way the tower is shorter than models such as the 4550 series. It doesn't take up much room, yet it is very heavy. The thing that I must say that I hate the most about this computer is the cooling fans. They make a constant annoying humming noise. When you first turn it on after it being off for a couple hours, you wont hear it but after it runs for about 5 minutes, the fans will start to make a loud humming noise. I may have to buy a new cooling fan for it. The case fan is making most of the noise, so that will be easy to replace. The memory that this computer came with is only 128MB. You can not run many programs at once on this computer. Sometimes, this machine has all it can do to run windows media player and internet explorer at the same time. Dell's customer support - I won't even call there anymore. It is horrible. Being put on hold for an hour is not customer support. I don't like where the USB ports on the front are located as well as the headphone jack. One time, I was trying to plug in my headphones to the front port and I mistakenly slipped the plug into the USB instead of the headphone jack and the computer shut off and wouldn't come back on for about 5 minutes. Everything that I was working on was lost. I guess this computer is not all that good, but I have to admit this. For a first time computer user, this is a good machine to start out with. Once you figure out more and more about computers though, you seem to realize that there are a lot of errors on this machine. Update - April 28th, 2007: I just upgraded this computer from the original 128MB of RAM to 384MB of RAM, which seems to really speed it up. I have been able to run way more programs at once, and it is always running fast now. I payed $33.99 for the memory upgrade. Also, I thought this computer was about $400, but I looked at the bill from it and realized that I had made a big mistake on the price and it was really $699.00, so I have updated that as well. I put a new case fan in this computer, it took the noise level way down. The original fan from Dell might have just been worn out and full of dust but every once in a while, it would say "Alert! Previous Fan Failure" at the start-up screen. I finally took care of that problem because I have been getting that error message for about a month. The Processor is a Pentium 4 Intel 2.00GHz. That is pretty much all the info I know but any other questions feel free to ask and Im sure I can find out what you need to know.
