We've been quite pleased with our Inspiron. We weren't really in the market for a laptop but it seemed like a really great deal that we couldn't pass up. I've always heard good things about Dell so I felt that I was comfortable with making this purchase. So far we haven't had any problems with it. The battery life does seem short (approximately 2 hours per charge), but we are typically somewhere that we can plug in the computer. I did read a negative review about the warranty and service, but we haven't had to deal with any of those issues. It does have a minimal amount of included software, but we don't need a lot of extras at our house. The only complaint I've really had is that the sound can do funky things at times. I don't know if it is the actual machine or the internet connection which causes it. It usually straightens back out after a minute or 2, but that's the only issue we've had. Again, we only need a basic computer for minor things a home and it's been a really good computer for that. We don't have a lot of laptop experience, but we've been pleased with our purchase.
