Pros: Good price and quick delivery.

Cons: Hard to understand what some support techs are saying.

The Bottom Line: Go with Dell. They have good products and good prices.

Since there are several reviews plus Dell's website that can give you the specifications I won't rehash those.

What I will says is that I am very pleased with my purchase. I needed to upgrade my laptop to something from this century so I started looking online for the best deal. I wanted the best I could get for the lowest price.

I looked at the various manufacturer websites and then some online retailers such as Best Buy, CDW and the like. Each time I kept coming back to Dell's website because of the price and the features.

After several weeks of looking I finally decided on the Dell Inspiron E1505, Intel Core Duoprocessor T2300 1.66Ghz. It isn't built for gaming but that isn't what I use it for anyhow. It seems to be pretty fast once you uninstall all of the extra software. There are a couple of good websites that can help with that if you do a quick google search. Once I removed the extra software the computer began to boot up in a little over a minute.

With Dell it is hard to know how great deal of a deal you get because they are always running some kind of special or another with various configurations. In the end, however, I feel like I got a good deal. I would recommend calling and talking with a sales rep instead of ordering online. They can get you deals that aren't available on the web. The configuration I bought was not even an option on their website. When I called I was able to get a couple of upgrades and still get free shipping.

Here is what you need to know if you are buying this machine.
On the plus side:
Screen is nice and bright.
Four USB ports, which come in handy
Digital media port for SD/XD and other digital media.
Built in wired and wireless network adapters.
Dell Media Direct allows you to play DVD's without booting up windows.
LED about keyboard indicates if the laptop detects a WiFi signal.

On the minus side:
Dell Media Direct is handy but wastes hard drive space.
To get the operating system cd you have to pay an extra $10.
If you want the cd's containing the drivers and everything else you need to do a complete reinstall you will have to call technical support after your purchase. They will send them for free, but you have to ask for them.
No printer port, which isn't major, but if you have an old printer it could be a hassle.
Contacting support is frustrating. Many of the folks who answer the phone sound as if they are from overseas and don't understand or speak English very well. I had to call three times before I got someone who understood what I was asking. Once I did they were very friendly and helpful.

This is my third Dell laptop and I have always been pleased with Dell.
