nykkchick's Full Review: Dell Inspiron™ E1505 PC Notebook
I was so excited to build my own notebook/laptop computer. Dell was offering a great sale price so i jumped on. I picked the flower blossom pattern, 4gb ram, and 320 g HD. those were my main things, it did have the dual intel Pentium processor but that wasnt my main concern. Ordering on the website was easy and simple. I didnt like how one min they processed the payment from my bank, the next day it was dropped off, then it processed again. it was like just process it already so i can do my other bills. I spent $854 on this was super excited about getting it. I received it, the notebook was SUPER HEAVY! I was surprised, considering it was a 15.4" the cover was pretty, but i was dissappointed that the pattern was just on the front and not on the whole system. The surprising thing was i thought it would run faster then it did but it didnt. i did really like the way it typed, or the way the keys felt, it wasnt like they were going to fall off. after about 2 weeks the system crashed, this was my main work computer, thank god i had a backup computer.
So i called Dell to get a repair set up or to see what i could do, oh my goodness, it was awful, they had me so upset i was ready to cry. First problem it took forever for them to pick up the call, then i couldnt understand a word the man from india? or some country like that said, then he wouldnt listen to what was wrong, then after about the 10th time, he expected ME TO TAKE THE NOTEBOOK APART AND TEST STUFF? I was shocked! Im not very coordinated at stuff like that so there was no way i was going to attempt that. (and later i came across a repair thing on their website that said do not take apart the computer yourself!!). after being on hold forever again, this man came back and set up a repair to have someone come to my home and repair what we THINK was the motherboard going out. I really wasn't comfortable with someone i didnt know coming to my home. I then realized i still had time left to return it, so i called to set it up to return it, oh my god another nightmare, once again i couldnt understand what the man from another country was saying, then he puts me on hold, and just leaves me there, comes back mumbles something and then leaves again, no music, i didnt even know if i was hung up on, apparantly i wasnt, so then he sets it up to return it, and said the label would be sent to my email. After an hour it wasnt i called again, and spoke with a lady who once again was from another country that i couldnt understand. i asked her for the address to send this back to, which SHE DIDNT WANT TO GIVE ME, after saying 3 times i want the address, it took me 10 times of asking what, and about a half hour to finally understand what she was saying. oh my god. my whole day was wasted with customer service. i spent about 3 hours on the phone with these people. and was on each different call about an hour. I will never buy a dell again, not because of the crashed computer, because of the customer service.
