Pros: Great picture. And I expect it to last.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: It's a great monitor at a great price. Even if you don't own a Dell, I'd recommend the Flat Display Trinitrons.

I'm permanently sold on Trinitrons. My older PC had a standard 17" Trinitron, and the PC I'm using now is a Dell with the 17" flat Trinitron that Dell sells (or rebrands, or relabels, or repackages, or whatever). My old one (about 5 years old) and my new one both have excellent picture quality, and I don't expect to ever have a problem.
First, the picture. It's excellent. The specs talk about the dot pitch, and the resolution, and all that, but what it really all means is that the monitor is capable of displaying a very sharp picture, accurately representing the colors, and not distorting shapes.
Now, the flat display. At first, I thought I was going to send the monitor back. After years of staring at regular bulbous monitors for hours on end at home and at work, I was convinced that the flat display was actually caved in toward the center of the monitor. I couldn't adjust it enough to get the edges straight (or so I thought). After a couple of days, my eyes and my brain got used to the different view, and now other monitors make me think they are being projected on a large ball. The flat display is great.
I wanted to come up with some negative points so that I don't sound like a salesman, but there aren't any that matter to me. Sure, it's heavy, but I don't plan on moving it. The labels stamped into the monitor case for the control buttons are hard to see (raised black on flat black), but I don't adjust it very often (almost never).
My "Amount Paid" is an estimate. It was part of a Dell package (add X dollars for this, subtract X dollars for that), so I'm not sure what the monitor actually cost me.
